Research departments produce large amounts of data, from experiment results to research findings, papers and abstracts. Often these documents need to be reached by many team members in a controlled and secure fashion. Cubique, the web portal meant to centralize Concordia's Cellulosic Biofuel Research department's on-line IT resources does just that and more. Utilizing Concordia's very own open source J2EE framework and the latest trends in web development, the software provides secure document storage, versioning and access control, inter user messaging and notification facilities, all found within an abstract team structure. The result and how it was achieved will be discussed.
